Zadar Conference on Air Conditioning 2009

On October 1-2, 2009 Zadar will be host to a Second Conference on Cooling, Ventilation and Air Conditioning that will deal with the design and implementation of cooling systems, refrigeration, ventilation techniques and air conditioning. 5th Annual Dubrovnik Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems

This UNESCO sponsored conference regarding sustainable development of energy, water and environment systems will take place in Dubrovnik for the fifth consecutive year between September 30 and October 3, 2009. CIP Eco-Innovation – Info Day and Project Café

On May 29, 2009 the European Union is organizing a CIP Eco-Innovation seminar through its project Enterprise Europe Network. This event will take place at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and Economy in Zagreb and will feature guest speakers from Brussels. Following the info session, the participants will get an opportunity to actively collaborate during a thematic segment of the day: Project Café. The seminar is aiming to provide first hand information and support for quality preparation of Croatian projects and proposals.

Educational Workshops in Osijek, Vukovar and Slavonski Brod

Energy Efficiency Cluster is organizing a series of educational workshops that will take place in Osijek, Vukovar and Slavonski Brod. The first workshop of the series themed “Applying Energy Efficiency to the Tourism Sector” will take place in Osijek on May 29, 2009. This event’s guest lecturers Boris Sucic and Sandra Dominic will address efficient building and construction, solar energy and EU investment funds.

Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Competitiveness 2009

This coming May, Koprivnicko-krizevacka County is organizing a conference on SME competitiveness. The conference will present incentive measures and programs for SME’s development and will also be a place of dialog between representatives of regional and local governments, support institutions and entrepreneurs concerning the actual problems and situations in the world of entrepreneurship in Koprivnicko-krizevacka County, with the possibility of proposing new measures which will contribute to competitiveness of SMEs on the EU market. Prague Research Connection 2009

On May 7 and 8, 2009 Prague will be host to a conference called „Research Connection 2009 – networking our way to a research future“. The event will provide information on EU funded research and funding opportunities and also serve as a chance for participants to meet potential partners for their projects. Local Renewables Freiburg 2009

This international conference focusing on sustainable energy, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and energy savings is going to take place in Freiburg from 27 to 29 of April, 2009. 2nd Sustainable Development of Cities Conference in Zagreb

The conference titled Systematic Energy Management in Cities and Counties in the Republic of Croatia will take place in Zagreb from April 27 to 29, 2009. This conference will address topics such as enhancing energy management in Croatian cities by focusing on the environment, sustainable energy management of public utility systems, and city planning and architecture. Energy Efficient and Environmentally Friendly Building Materials

On April 1, 2009 Budapest is hosting a conference titled “Energy efficient and environmentally friendly building materials – glass structures”. With its main topic being innovation, it will attract plenty of architects as well as investors. The main goal of this event is to discuss energy efficient and environmentally friendly building solutions and to present modern solutions in regard to glass technologies.

  • IPA IIIc Science and Innovation Workshop

    A workshop on applying for IPA IIIc Science and Innovation Funding has been organized by Ministry of Science, Education and Sport on July 1, 2009 in Zagreb.   • FP7 Info Day

    Another FP7 ICT Info Day, where participants had an opportunity to find out more about the experience of being part of an FP6 project consortium, has taken place in Zagreb on June 30, 2009. Throughout this event useful information regarding proposal writing as well as partner search was handed out and the Info Day goers talked to each other about their plans for FP7 participation. This Cooperation – ICT Call within the EU Seventh Framework Programme will be open from July 31 to November 3, 2009.
  • EE Cluster Organizes Energy Efficiency and Tourism Seminar

    EE Cluster organized its first seminar on Energy Efficiency and Tourism in Osijek on May 29, 2009. Mr. Antonio Sobol, director of Tourism Board of Osijek-Baranja County held the introductory speech on rural tourism which was followed by presentations by guest lecturers Sandra Dominic (of Entrepreneurial Network ZPM) and Boris Sucic (of University of Zagreb: Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing). The success of this seminar was also due to its interesting topics such as business planning and energy efficiency in tourism sector and, surely, its participants.
  • Eco-Innovation Seminar in Zagreb
    Another conference in regard with applying for EU funding took place at Croatian Chamber of Economy in Zagreb, on May 29, 2009. Esteemed European lecturers provided step by step guidance for composing a successful Eco-Innovation project. Together with case studies, the second part of this seminar was comprised of a Project Café where participants had a chance to brainstorm their project ideas in a more informal setting and receive feedback from experienced European consultants.

  • 3rd International Clusters Conference

    On May 11, 2009 Opatija was host to a 3rd international conference on clusters called 'Challenges and Opportunities for Clusters Development', organized within the First European SME Week '09. This event welcomed representatives of various Croatian clusters as well as of Croatian Ministries and SMEs. Minister of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship Damir Polančec held the opening speech which was followed by presentations of many European guest lecturers regarding development and goals of clustering. Undoubtedly the practices seen in case studies shown at the conference together with the opportunity for networking will prove to be a great experience as well as tool for many this year's participants.
  • IT Funding Possibilities

    On May 8, 2009 Energy Efficiency Cluster together with its partner Energy Center attended a seminar titled 'IT Sector Funding Possibilities' which presented the latest news on Enterprise Europe Network as well as showed case studies of successful projects that were granted EU funds.
  • Association Days

    From April 23 to 25, 2009 Association Days were held in Osijek. The event was attended by many Croatian associations, including the Energy Efficiency Cluster. Throughout the event there was plenty of talk regarding the influence of civil society during recession time. Participants were given information on current year’s available EU funding as well as on proposal preparation and selection process. On consequent days round tables and conferences were organized where participants exchanged their experiences and spoke of citizens’ role in decision making process.
  • Eco-Innovation Call for Proposals 2009

    Eco-Innovation supports projects that are for the first time applying eco-innovative techniques, products, processes or practices that have previously been technically demonstrated but need incentive for approaching and getting through to the market. The maximum length of the project is 36 months. The proposed deadline is September 10, 2009 (before 17:00h) and the total amount available for this Call is EUR 30 million.

  • Final Dissemination Conference on RES Grid Integration

    This conference took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb on April 15, 2009 and featured many experts in the field. Among the topics that presentations were held on, lecturers spoke of objectives of the new energy strategy in Croatia, GreenNet Project as well as presented Austrian and Slovenian examples of grid connection and renewable energy sources issue.
  • RESBOAT

    EE Cluster attended RESBOAT conference in Vukovar on March 26, 2009. The boat that began its journey on March 23 in Vienna as a part of a five-stop cruise conference series, sailed into our Danube port at 9 am on the 26th of March. Vukovar conference aimed to discuss biofuel, alternative motor fuel trends and energy efficiency. At the end of this event, participants agreed on the importance of encouraging energy efficiency projects. They also organized a workshop where they had set plans for further promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. You can take a look at this event's press clip here

  • RELEEL Project Workshop

    The RELEEL Project Workshop took place on February 5, 2009 at the Croatian Chamber of Economy in Osijek and featured guest lecturers from Austria and Sweden. Its goal was to discuss co-ordination of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency legislation, and to allow transfer of knowledge regarding renewable sources, highly efficient cogeneration, and energy efficiency to all interested participants.


  • How to envision and write a project that will acquire EU funding

    Cluster Tehnointerijeri took part of a seminar about creating a successful project that will receive funding from EU pre-accession funds, which was organized by Entrepreneurial Incubator BIOS on 26 and 27 of June 2008 at Osijek Hotel.



    This two-day seminar was hosted by Igor Medić and Jean-Pierre Maričić and was attended by about 50 Croatian entrepreneurs. The seminar served as a well of information on EU pre-accession funds and gave its attendees an opportunity to write their own sample case studies. BIOS wanted to show that EU funding is attainable given quality preparation, work and persistence.
